  • Wow rayst way to be a human being, so compassionate!

If her doctor believes her depression requires the use of pills, that is not her fault nor should it be made to seem her fault. I'm on fluoxetine myself at the moment because I was prescribed it.

Wanna know where I'd be if I hadn't been prescribed medication? I'd be six feet under by now.

Some antidepressants even reduce appetite. Just go to your doctor and say you don't want any kinds with weight gain side effects.

Not all Anti-depressants "cause" weight gain. It can be a side effect for "some" people, but not everybody. Your doctor has to tell you about the medication before prescribing it. Some people, after hearing what the "possible" side effects are, suddenly develop them. Mind over matter? Maybe, maybe not. There are so many different meds out there right now I am sure you can find something to help your depression without worrying about wright gain. Now, with that being said, treating your depression is far more important than a little weight gain. It isn't as if you are going to gain 100 pounds. If you know you are depressed, and you know you need medication to help you, TAKE THE DAMN MEDICINE!

Actually, Theres a way to get rid of depression without taking any pills, but its really hard and most people just give up due to the big pressure and mixed up feelings, but if your doctor told you that you need to take pills and that you agree that this is the only "possible" way for you to get out of depression then you should do it. They doesnt make you gain weight, if they did, just talk to your doctor about it. Dont worry, youll find a way to be happy somehow, just believe in yourself and stick to your guns if they want give you something you dont think you need...good luck :)

In the welter of crap that is often posted, there occasionally seems a real person with a real problem. Today, I think it's you.

A girl I know was told by a doctor, "these tablets will make you put on weight because you'll be happier". One of the most condescending things I've heard, but with an element of truth.

As for you, dealing with depression doesn't automatically involve tablets. There are plenty of other options. Or, you could accept the temporary "possible" weight gain, and then try to lose it again when you're less depressed.

Wise- u can still care about the way u look when suffering depression. Some times that's how people mask there depression, by still looking well an confident.

  • I don't think you're depressed because you still care about your appearance...

Wow you're such a stupid fucktard. You know what the cause of your problem is, but the only solution you think of is taking pills and staying with the source of your problem. I dont think you need meds but psychological help, and surely an I.Q. raiser

    • i agree with rayst in that you know the problem and pills cant change it only actions will. get counselling there is a solution but sometimes it takes the leap of faith to move forward good luck
