I find it very difficult to hate people based on their sexual orientation. As a racist, sexist, heterosexual male, is there something wrong with me?
I would say no there isn't anything wrong with you. No matter how degenerate society gets its not something you have the right to express an opinion about because having an opinion that isn't completely shared by everyone or isn't totally "tolerant" isn't the American way. What every American needs to understand is everyone who is different or perhaps even totally polar opposites need to be forced to get along because that is how the world works and that would never lead to conflict or violence.
If you take a bucket and you pour chlorine, bleach, ammonia, gasoline, kerosene, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid...well that bucket certainly won't melt and it certainly will never blow up.
Because sunshine, rainbows and unicorns that's what everyone needs to think about and focus on.
