they have genital surgery. The whole point of wanting to be a woman is to have a vagina. Guys like Jenner want to dress pretty but still use the old joy stick in bed. Doesn't that just make him a cross dresser? As for women they will never have a real penis but taking hormones can make the clit get a bit bigger. I guess that's the best they can do. Either way I don't think they can call themselves the opposite sex unless they have gender reassignment surgery.

    I'm personally confused about the transgender thing. Someone says they feel like a woman trapped in a man's body or vice versa, yet when they "transition", all they do is change their outward appearance.

    It's like me putting on a cop uniform and acting like a cop and saying I'm transcop or something. The clothes don't make the man...Woman...He-she...I dunno.

      I seriously think this is beyond our comprehension because we aren't transgendered and thus lack the empathy to know what they are feeling.

      I think becoming the other gender by changing your appearance accordingly is necessary for some/many in order to really feel like the other gender and hopefully fit into this role in society.

        If it is beyond our comprehension then we have to conclude that it is also beyond the transgender'd person's comprehension in regards to being the sex they wish to be.

        For example, a man wouldn't know what it's like to be a woman and vice versa.

        If our views aren't valid because we aren't trans then that standard would have to apply to everyone. Lol.

          You got me wrong, there, I was simply referring to not being able to comprehend their feelings just like I can't understand how a person could be asexual or aromantic...

          Besides, transgendered people don't only change their outward appearance, they also act and behave like the gender they consider themselves to be; I admit, they might not have to change that because they feel like it anyway.

          Nevertheless, it is (probably) important to transgendered people to be seen by society and obviously individual people as the gender they desire to be. I don't see anything illogical there :P

    Actually transgender is the term for someone who has not had surgery yet. Transsexual is the term for someone who has fully gone to the other side and gotten surgery. Someone transgender people never choose to get the surgery.

    The prefix trans- means crossing or changing, not crossed or changed. To be transgender means that ones gender identity does not conform to his/her biological birth sex, NOT necessarily that he/she has transitioned successfully and has been reassigned the gender he/she feels he/she was inside already.

    You can never know what's inside anybody's head but your own. It's all just conjecture, but give people the benefit of the doubt anyway. Wouldn't you want others to give you that too?

    Caitlin Jenner isn't a cross-dresser or a transvestite because she says she's not. End of story. Why would someone want to face possible public humiliation to have a fetish acknowledged anyway? That's ridiculous. For some people, being seen as the gender they already know they are inside is all they need to feel whole and well.

      So you are the new authority on other peoples thoughts, emotions, desires, needs, wants and everything else that you feel entitles you to pretty much say that "all of them" in the transgendered community are full of crap, lieing, and trying to bullshit the rest of the society they are involved with. If I told you that I think that since you are bald, to me you could look like a stalker or child molester. But hey I dont know you from a pile of dog crap. You dont know the people you are trying to force your single one man opinion on. Or if I said your wife or girlfriend was walking down the street, and to me they looked like they could be a prostitute. But hell I dont know them, therefore it is not my place to judge them or try and convict them based only on my opinion. Thats what your doing, snd making a pretty big ass of yourself in my opinion.
