It's a social defect, but we all have our social defects. Mine is being too beautiful.
As long as you can FEEL emotion, you're fine. To be honest with you, some people will probably think of you as boring or weird, but as long as you know you can feel something, who cares what others think? I have a problem personally where I actually have a hard time feeling emotion, I'd rather be in your position
Neither of these situations really have a good side. And one is not better than the other.
"Oh man that was funny"
"Yeah"
"Didn't you think that was funny?"
"Yeah"
"Then why didn't you laugh?"
Etc.
Well for your situation it just causes social issues, for his case (one that he/she and I share) actually makes life uninteresting and boring much of the time. It pushes me to find new thrills that get my blood pumping just for some excitement, even if it's stupidly dangerous.
