Why do people get into relationships; what are they looking for, and why is it sometimes considered necessary for happiness? Also, why does it matter so much they are a similar age to you?

Humans need companionship. They desire to be really close and intimate with a special person. Although most humans feel that they need relationships to be happy, some humans may feel the opposite and find happiness in other ways. If two people in a relationship are far apart in age, then they may not have a similar level of maturity and wisdom. They might be from different generations and not have experiences, culture, or much in common. Some relationships like this might work, but it is generally frowned upon.
