I don't like the beatles, is it normal?

I appreciate music and all the things it has to offer. I've tried digging into The Beatles but I can't seem to connect with any of their songs. One time I had to sing "Yesterday", and I liked it a bit but still to this day I don't have any sort of admiration towards them. They're just not my type. Everybody whom I tell this to looks at me in confusion- as if since they're marked by society as one of the best things to happen to the music industry, everyone in the world has to appreciate them.

Not me.

Is that normal?

I hate them with a fiery passion and my guitar buddies fucking hate that I consider the Beatles music nails on a chalkboard. I've once stopped an entire room of I'm guessing fans of them by saying thank God that raving lunatic snuffed out Lennon otherwise he'd be pumping out heaps of garbage like todays Bob Dylan

The Beatles are just totally overrated - I've no idea why so many people rate them so highly. Bad, crappy songs sung but mop headed twats that's what I say!

exactly. Across The Universe makes their songs better though! also, any cover by them made by someone else is much better than the original.

Perfectly normal, people have different music preferences.

No band is ever going to have universal appeal. While lots of people like The Beatles, not everyone is going to. It's normal. Like the bananaface, I struggle to enjoy The Rolling Stones and I feel people get at me for it (maybe like you and The Beatles). I like a couple of songs and I do absolutely love Paint It Black but, in general, hmm no.

So, yes, it's normal for some people not to like The Beatles. Also The Rolling Stones. Any band, in fact.

I don't like them either, not even slightly.
There are bands from that genre that are highly underrated though.

I'm perfectly fine with it as long as you don't like Justin Bieber, One Direction, or Nickleback.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I've always considered not being able to appreciate good things as a sign of bad taste. I don't mean that condescendingly, by the way. I just think there's a clear difference between liking something and appreciating it. Even if you dislike their music (which is completely normal), you can't deny that they're good artists. They made good music, and if you can't recognise that, then I suppose I find that a bit strange. Just like how the Rolling Stones made good music, yet I don't really care much for them.

I'm sorry if this comes across as being offensive by the way, I'm not trying to say you have bad taste. I have no idea what your taste is like!
