I don't like tanning

I was born with very light skin and blonde hair though at the moment my hair is a dark red. I have nothing against people who tan though I do laugh when the tan is so baked you can tel it was horribly faked. I went to the beach other day and I had so much fun I forgot to stay under my umbrella so I have a slight tan and have been trying to find way to get rid of it. I always use skin lightening creams to get a pretty pale/fair look but not an "omg michael jackson" kind of white. (and no that's not making fun of him i'm just trying to make it clear that i'm not aiming for THAT kind of white".

My family make fun of me because I like wearing long skirts and long sleeved shirt when i go outside to the avoid the sun and I constantly spray sunblock on me. I just don't like the look of tanned skin on myself and prefer the almost old time aristocratic appearance of creamy skin.

Normal or crazy? lol

I say good for you!! I was born with a very pale skin tone and hate heat. so I can't stand people who are tanned, i find it repulsive.

I am like this too! My dad's quite dark-skinned with black hair and my mum's fair and blonde, and I got the pale skin with the back hair. I don't tan really (I just burn then go back to white) but I hate the idea of going brown because I really like having porcelain skin. I think it is aristocratic and ladylike, and much more striking than the standard plastic tan people seem to want nowadays.

Absolutely normal. Just look at Nicole Kidman--pretty porcelain skin. Not to mention you'll spare yourself a good deal of skin damage and wrinkling.

Can't stand when people go out for a run with the sun exposed all over their body leaving an uneven tan! I mean you can run at a gym or at night and can tan at the beach if that's what you're going for. Suffering in the sun while running with blazing 90 degree weather! Yuck! I do prefer to stay the olive pale tone I am.

Pale looks like one is sick and it makes me gag when i see someone whose green and blue veins are all showing. A slight tan looks like one is healthy. You don't see through the skin to the veins.

I would rather be pale myself.

I wear UV-protective armbands that I bought in Japan with T-shirts and make sure to wear Factor 50+ sunscreen all over, even in my native UK.

However, I did catch the sun a fair bit when on holiday a couple of weeks back and I still have freckles on my face, hands and arms D:/ . I hope I lose the colour by the end of the year.

I've got a lightening cream for the face and one for the body. OP, may I ask what brands you use and what skin type you are?

I tried the ginseng and herb format of Yoko whitening facial cream and it made me come out in blackheads after using it twice a day for a week or two.

I am just the same, I think it's perfectly normal. Creamy white skin is so beautiful.
