I don't like divorced men referring to themselves as bachelors

Is it normal that I don't like it when divorced men refer to themselves as a bachelor? I'm a straight 54 year old man who has never been married. I'm a bachelor! Men who have been married are not bachelors! Especially if they have kids!

I don't like pregnant women asking me to give up my seat when I have an invisible chronic medical condition but life goes on

It's too much to sweat the small stuff, just live your life

Same I never care when someone expects that of me I just look away and ignore them. My seat I got here first and you don't know wether I need to sit or not and I don't care about a total stranger.

I'm with you. A divorced man is not a bachelor.

Why would anyone even think about this? Just forget about it and move on.

I think what they may mean is that they have discovered that they themselves are at heart a bachelor.

It's better saying you are a bachelor than a divorced father. Makes the chances of getting laid substantially higher I can imagine.

Yeah, I get you, they're bastardizing the word. In their defence though, they're probably quite sad with how things have turned out, and are phrasing it that way to take the sting away from it. "Bachelor" sounds a lot better than "middle-aged divorcee"

I'm not sure there is a name for divorced people, spinster and bachelor is usually for single never married people.
I really don't know if there is a sexed name for us sort, we just get call divorcees.
I was a divorcee until my third marriage now I'm a widower!

Why do women have bachelorette parties and not spinster parties?

We have Stag parties, they should have Hind parties?

A divorcée is a woman who has divorced, and a divorcé is a man who has divorced.
