I don't know what to say after "hello"

I'm friends with this one person (online) and we became really close, and texted/skyped almost everyday. Then, somewhere down the road...We sort of drifted apart, we still speak now and then but its usually me who starts the conversations and its just, 'hello' then I don't know what to say to her.

I find it odd that someone who is (and always will be) my bestfriend and I don't even know how to speak to her.

It's so awkward and everything goes downhill. It's been 3 years. Also, we do have a large age gap so that might contribute to it, though it never really bothered us.

People lose interest, and internet bonds aren't a hundredth as strong as real life ones. She's moved on and so should you. If you don't know what to say, don't say anything.

if she was your best friend then talking to her should be as easy as breathing. My one best friend and I have been super close since kindergarten, however once we reached high school we drifted apart. However to this day whenever we see each other we have hour long conversations and truly enjoy each others company. This is what being best friends should be like. No amount of time or distance should make a difference. I say your friendship with this girl is in the past and the two of you can stay in contact if you wish but for the most part you should't expect more than the occasional "hey! how you doing?".
