Right now I am pursuing a degree and plan to get a really good job someday. But even though I'm in college I feel lonely and sometimes I just don't understand why I am even bothering. My gut tells me I will never find someone to spend the rest of my life with and what's the point of becoming successful if I have nobody to share it with? I mean, what's the point of living if you're going to be alone for the rest of your life? I know I have a long life ahead of me but I just don't really connect with other people like I wish I would.

    I feel like this all my life. I just dont know why are we living,what for?! I just want something more of life...this life is so boring and sad and i think something is controling us.

    maybe you don't connect with people as well as other people do, but i am certain that there is someone out there who will connect with you for the person that you are. just give it time, no need to rush and risk finding the WRONG person, because being with the wrong person is actually worse than being alone.

    i have the same feeling. i dont have any close friends. I only have my cats. it certainly feels like ill be living alone for the rest of my life.

    I'm sad to say that I often feel the same way. Something that makes me feel better: my dogs. It may be hard work to create and keep human relationships, but it is so easy to adopt a canine friend.

    Im in college as well and i wonder about the same thing you do, except im not afraid of having no one to share it with..i am happy when i am by myself anyway and people have been nothing but disappointments. who knows this might be a phase and i wouldn't let these feelings get you down from pursuing a good career and life . you still have time to meet someone. its better than ending up as a bum because you didn't have the confidence to have good lives. you deserve a good life just like anyone else.

    I think to some extent it must be normal. I'm going thru the same exact same thing almost verbatim. It's hard to be young and not be certain about your future. Keep working hard and paying it forward. I beleve that things will fall into place for pol like us. Where do you go tocollege?
