I don't have girl friends and i'm a girl... is this normal?

I'm an 18 year old girl from Iowa...and since I hit puberty or started being a teen I haven't had any female friends. (Same gender friends) I'm heterosexual, and do many things a teen would do (browse stuff, read, watch movies, exercise) but I don't feel very comfortable with other girls, I usually find their talks boring and don't know what to talk about because I'm scared they'll think I'm weird if I talk about philosophy or science. It hurts my head and makes me sleepy to talk about who is fuckable, who got pregnant and how to get a perfect manicure. With boys I usually don't struggle too much to start and carry on a conversation, I feel they don't judge as much and they tend to be sometimes nicer.
Is this normal? Is there a way I can have female friends without being awkward?

Usually girls talk about beauty stuff but not all of them always talk about that. It's just you haven't yet found a friend who has in common with you.

I'm age 48 a male and i can not communicate well with males
i rather have female friends usually ones younger than myself and no it's nothing pervy just that i like younger women.

I don't see it being a problem, you like what friends you do and no one can stop you, just be free to be yourself just watch the guys who want get freaky, get guy friends who will treat you like a lady.

It's like this for guys too. Don't worry, you just have to find the right friend, man or woman.

It is the same way with guys. "Bikes, hunting, fishing, sports, cars, girls, trucks, beer, drugs, guns" and more bullshit; fuck em all.
