I don't feel emotional about dogs in movies/shows. iin?
We all know how people will turn super happy when they see dogs being happy in movies and then their eyes into a faucet when they see movies such as Marley & Me.
I do not want to sound heartless or evil (and I know this will turn many dog lovers vicious), but I don't feel that emotional when a dog dies in a movie. For example, when I saw Marley & Me, I was a bit sad but I didn't cry a single tear, and I know many people will start branding me as evil for that. The furthest a scene about a dog has emotionally pushed me was in Elfen Lied (SPOILER: Bullies killed the dog of a mutated girl just to torment her, and the bullies become her first murder victims), when I felt much more sympathy for the dogs than the bullies and felt that the bullies deserved it, but I didn't cry over it either (while everyone else was going hysterical).
Basically, I don't feel THAT upset about the death of dogs in movies (unless they are very central to the plot). I'm not against dogs or anything (I like them), and can understand why people would feel so upset (after all, in American culture, dogs are man's best friend). But I'm not emotional about their deaths in movies, at least no more than when another human dies in the movie.
Is this normal?
