I don't care about princess diana

I can't understand why people care so much about Princess Diana. Everyone I know who knows who she was seems to think that she's some big deal. She was a not-particularly-bright girl who happened to be born into a family that lives off of the British tax payers.

Some people point out the fact that she did charity work. Well good for her; it's not like she's a freaking princess or anything. It's not like her only job is to have good PR.

I didn't necessarily think that she deserved to die (though her death evoked less sadness than, say, the death of my pet rabbit). But why are Brits still mourning her death today? Why do Americans care at all? Is it normal to not feel sad that a princess died? I wouldn't even consider protesting Camilla, she's just another obsolete remnant of feudalism.

Why can't I care about Princess Di?

I cared about her alot because she had to deal with a husband that cheated. He belittled her after the kids were born. Her mother in law was a horses patoot to her. She overcame that horrible family and came into her own. She gave the finger to that old time heirarchy.

Why care about anyody? Why care indeed.! There is a thing in this world called 'empathy' and a great lack of it from many people.

This is normal. Exactly what I think of Michael Jackson because he is an entertainer and a lot of them have short lives. Blah.

You as many others, get fed up with the glamorization of the media. Princess Di was indeed glamorized, but there's something a little deeper at play. She was willing (actually she insisted) on doing things different than the staunch, age-old customes of the monarch. She showed emotion, compassion, held sick children, worked with
AIDS victims, etc. She was real and that went against the hundred of years old traditions of the monarchy. Maybe the attitiude is "it must be rough" then think of the things she could have been doing with her time. She was a royal and could have done anything she wanted at any time. And, I believe she did!

I don't care about her either.

    Or that fucking Natalie Halloway.

It's just really annoying to hear about dead people all the time.

I know exactly what you mean because I feel the same way as you do. Humans are crazy and messed up yet animals have purer intentions, sure when they eat eachother its not nice, but they don't do it for fun they do it because its the cycle of nature, and you don't see them going out there looking for trouble and destroying the earth. Thats why I say calling someone an animal should be a compliment and calling someone a human should be the insult
