I don't believe ops should be allowed to delete comments. iin?
Nothing on is it normal irritates me more than someone deciding to delete a comment you've made. Especially, when you have placed effort in trying to sympathize and give real advice. If the OP does not like what we have to say, too bad. It may be useful to another user.
is it normal to believe this power should be reduced? Perhaps they should only be able to report a comment to management. At which point management will judge if the comment is trollery. If it is not, it should not be deleted. We are all adults here and we should all be able to endure criticism. The webite is called "Is it Normal?" It should be clear from the start that someone responding "no" is intrinsic to the binary nature of the question. By offering the option of deleting comments the essence of the website loses its purpose. It will no longer be a place where curious people come to question their beliefs, observations, and habits. Instead it will become a place to arbitrarily confirm them. If you came here just to have your beliefs confirmed, this should not be the correct site for you. But for the time being, it is.
If you have deleted the sincere comments of others, could you please do me the courtesy of explaining why? I am perplexed.
