I dislike gory/ scary halloween themes

I hate driving around this time of year and finding people who did their best to make their yard look like a zombie movie. This one house has multiple severed heads and graves and ghouls crawling out on his lawn. I shudder to think about toddlers riding or walking by! And how much money do these people pay for gross decorations?
I prefer cute things, I mean horror movie themes like Dracula or witches if you must but rotting dead bodies and open graves seem kinda sick to me.

    The good thing about Halloween is that kids need dental checkups after all the candy they eat.

    I hate hate HATE houses decorated with xmas lights and santa's and reindeer and dwarfs and all that rubbish: total waste of electricity, but I reckon they get their punishment from all the carbon monoxide fumes generated by the cars crawling by so the kiddies can ooh and aah at all that waste. YUK

      I notice a lot of non Americans don't like any decorations that waste electricity. I'm not disagreeing with you btw.

        Unfortunately the people I was talking about are non-americans - I'm in Australia and I hate anything that wastes anything, pretty much and I have wondered if the power companies started this house deco fashion where people compete to put up more and more brightly lit monstrosities than their neibhbours .

    I see your point yeah. We had a cat lady living on our street and her house burnt down so she was camping on the block in an old trailer van surrounded by cats and ibis birds and a young relative visiting at the time was terrified every time we passed the strange scene so your right doesn't take much to scare the little ones.

    Obviously kids have a good sense of whats happening but I think theres a line that you shouldn't cross.
