I truly don't find substance in their lyrics. Musically perhaps, they possessed some proficiency, but when you compare them to a band like Tool, they're nothing. Am I the only one?

I like Ac/Dc. Their lyrics have their meaning straight in your face so you won't think they are meaning somethung else. Back in Black's riff is probably one of the best riffs EVER. T-N-T is wow, TNT BOOM!!. Highway to hell... The Jack......
Which is why I dislike AC/DC so much and why Tool is one of mankind's greatest offerings in terms of art.
It's not my problem you hate ac/dc and i hate tool. So, they don't have deep messages and I don't fucking care If Ac/Dc wouldn't exist a lot of bands wouldn't. Have you evwr seen Vh1's 100 greatest hard rock songs? What do ppl like better Ac/Dc or tool? At least have some respect for them...

You know how when bands get interviewed they can talk about music and stuff, I saw an interview with Angus once and he didn't know anything about music. Just played stuff and said he thought it sounded good.
All very well, but if you've been high profile band in the industry for that long, playing professionally, you should have figured out a bit of music theory along the way.
Tool on the otherhand is REAL music and REAL art. I'll still be listening to and enjoying Tool when I'm old and all the kids are into annoying electronic sounds.
I agree with you, AD/DC just isn't that interesting to me, and they're extremely overrated, they lack energy to me, and they haven't really improved their musical skill over all these years, which is funny because I love punk, but I think it has the energy that AC/DC is just missing for me, I think they'd be a lot better if they were more musically complex.

Yeah I dont like them either. It's not even that they're bad, it's just that all thier music sounds the same. I get extrememly sick of them halfway through a song, and then switch to another, and it sounds the same. Listen to Van Halen, and Black Sabbath if you like classic rock :)

I don't like them either. Maybe because my dad ruins their songs when he sings them, dunno.
I don't like them either, the musics never done anything for me. My friends went to the concert and I was asked and I said no, didn't even want to go for the experience so yeah your normal. Not everyone can like the same stuff
Tool suck first off. They're self indulgant post grunge/nu metal shit. Boring lyrics too, not catchy, don't rhyme. If you think their angsty shitty teenage diary sounding rants are lyrics, you suck. Rock music is supposed to be entertaining, not about bland complaining, or adolescent sulking. The only positive aspect of the band is their album artwork and music videos.
But yeah AC/DC is really overrated, the band is talented, but half of their songs sound the same, and the vocals aren't too great in my opinion. I have no problem with ACDC's lyrics they aren't meant to be deep, they're based on hooks, but overall the band is just not all that special.
