I rent a room in a large rooming house. Like any rooming house we have a variety of types of people. And races. There was a room available for rent. So I bring a friend of mine, who is gay, to talk to the landlord. We are in his office and my friend starts talking and it becomes obvious to the landlord by my friends manner of speech of his sexual nature. The landlord then refuses to rent to my friend. Pure and simple. I'm straight, but I'm appalled. I tell this dick head that it's illegal to refuse my friend service like this. He says: So fucking sue me. Is this normal in this day and age? The room was rented that same day to someone else. I'm moving, but WTF?

    The only reason anti-discrimination laws exist is because if they didn't FAGGOTS wouldn't have any room or house to rent now would they?

    Honestly ask yourself the question, why do these laws exist? Hmmmmm, let me think for a second now.... BECAUSE NOBODY FUCKING LIKES THEM!

    What is already DOCUMENTED about FAGS the common man already knows because because he can see it with his own eyes. I don't get what people don't understand about it!!!

    The landlord knows if he lets the homosexual rent there and there are families with children THOSE families are likely to move out causing him way more financial loss then the familyless queer renting a one bedroom apartment. This isn't hard to understand is it?

    How long have you been on this site? You honestly haven't figured out that even this tiny cross section of the world's population has a plethora of some of the most bigoted, small minded people who hate everybody who isn't like them? Get a grip. We really, as a species, haven't come very far in the acceptance of others.

    Look at it this way.What he said about your friend was hurtful BUT You dodged a bullet. At least you aren't stuck in a lease living with a difficult landlord who makes judgemental comments about everything you do.

    Where have you been hiding that you think homophobia is dead? And of course it's illegal but would you friend have the financial and other resources to sue him? Unless the landlord specifically said he wouldn't rent the room bc your friend is gay, it would be very hard to prove anyway.

    Your gay friend is lucky to have a straight supportive friend like you
