I despise people that say they hate rap iin?

Too bad. Suck it up.

Its the same for me when people say they hate metal, metal and rock changed my life in so many ways and to hear someone so blatantly say they hate it, or say that it sucks/is just noise/etc just pisses me off so bad. I just want to play them my music and show them how good it is.

Having said that im one of the people who really dislikes rap, however my reasoning is pretty genuine. I dont like the image it portrays, guns, violence, treating women as nothing more than sex objects, etc, and the songs are always full of swearing which is a big turn off for me. As always there are a few songs I like, but on the whole I dislike the genre for those reasons.

But I totally accept there are people like you out there who love it, and I wouldn't ever try to change that. Listen to what makes you happiest.

I hate this as well. It's like the cheapest cop-out ever, people are just allowed to say "I hate all country and rap" and they blindly throw it out there because... it's a thing to say.

If they had ever spent any time listening to a wider variety of rap, they'd probably find something they like. The popular songs that get overplayed on the radio are usually not that good, so I can understand to some extent, but seriously - who is going to listen to Tupac's "Changes" and say "Yeah, that crappy rap song had no message and he has no talent"

Everyone has their taste of music... for me it's Metal, Rock and Punk.

But I don't hate on other genres anymore because in almost every genre will be a song you like and you can't generally say that it sucks... Also it's stupid to use arguments like that it is untalented or such...

I also listen to Rap, Electro(Trance, Techno or Dubstep) ocassionally

In high school all my friends LOVED to listen to rap music when I preferred to listen to house an r&b I had a passion for h8n rap an country... but after some time I enjoyed it. I guess it really depends on what song cause not allll rap songs are good, well to me. Music is a freedom of expression an different people like different music, but how I see it some people shouldn't be so close minded im sure their are quite a few songs they would like weather its the sound or the meaning... :)

I think it's normal. I can somewhat relate to you because I love Classical Music while many people tend to overlook it. Me personally, I don't like Rap but I don't hate it either. The way I see it, it's just like any other genre of music that has its admirers and haters.

If people want to waste their time bashing it then its their problem...

I don't care if people hate the music I like, it doesn't matter to me. I don't like rap myself, but I don't hate on it either, I just prefer to never listen to it.

honestly the only rap/hip hop i listen to is kid cudi and lupe fisaco...rap isn't for everyone which can be said about alot of different genres of music.

People who say they don't like a certain type of music usually tend to judge the genre based on the mainstream songs that are played on the radio all the time. Personally I like metal a lot but I think most the metal songs I've heard on the radio are horrible. I'm a musician though and I enjoy making all styles of music. One thing I have however noticed with most mainstream rap is its too repeative and I get bored if I keep hearing the same part loop too many times. I like it when the parts change more often. Ive made some rap beats and I try to use lots of parts to keep it constantly intersting.

Hahah thats ironic because I hate rap its mostly because I feel like there talking and not actually singing granted it takes effort to make the songs but they feel to me like they have no meaning. When I look for a song I look at the rythm first. If it isn't unique in its own way then I feel like its lacking. I like rythmy songs like hips don't lie, be my escape, dekho na they all feel unique and when I hear rap songs they all feel the same nothing sparks. oh, and I hate the lyrics for instance earl sweatshirt-home. If you really think rap has some decent songs I don't mind listening, name a few.
