I'd like to make my living room a sitcom replica.

I'd like to redecorate my living room as a replica of one on a sitcom or cartoon. I'm really excited about this but my partner says it's stupid. He doesn't do the decorating though, I do, so he says I can do whatever I want and he doesn't care. It bothers me that he thinks it's stupid though.

Is this idea cool/normal, even if you personally can't or wouldn't execute it?

    Yes it is stupid, but the kind of stupid that I would absolutely love! It would be so awesome for friends to walk in and recognize the place from their fav TV show!

    Sounds like an interesting project to me. How far do you want to take it? Furniture, carpet and curtains are probably easy but when it comes down to lamps, paintings, objets d'art?
