I crave alkaselzer tablets

I have a weird craving where I love, love, LOVE AlkaSelzer Extra Strength tablets. I don't go crazy and risk my health or anything. but when I take some for pain management, I can't help but lick the tablet a few times. And it HAS to be the regular flavored (none of that sweetened fruity crap) EXTRA STRENGTH AlkaSeltzer. The other ones don't taste right to me. My mouth is watering just thinking of the taste! I know it's a sign of PICA, but I don't think I have that... Then again, Maybe I do...
So, being SERIOUS here, do any of you like the taste of AlkaSeltzer???

    I looove regular alka selzer... I take at least 8 packs a day, sometimes more. I don't need pain to want them, I just crave them! Scary after reading comments that I can have really bad side effects from this...

    Hello I am a 60+ Male and I have never taken drugs or drank much alcohol. My kidneys failed and after a couple of years . I became anemic and had Low Iron. (doctors told me} about 5 months ago I started chewing on alkaselzer tablets and never quit. I knew the aspirin was supposed to make your stomach bleed. Did not feel any pain so kept going up to 5 or 6 tabs a day. small bites at a time with a mouth full of water. Long story short this week I could not breathe well at alll. I went to the hospital and was admitted for chest pain and shortness of breath. I was placed on oxygen and examined in all kinds of ways . Any how the doctors determined that after PICA it caused my stomach to bleed wich affected my organs and caused me to need two blood transfusions. they had to wait for all the asprin to leave my system . I was discharged after 4 days. This was scary and no joke I also had a craving for gasoline fumes. Once again I did not see any
    effects either when I smelled that either.I just loved the smell I ended up with bacterial Pnumonia. So dont do this stuff . Yes I liked Ice Chips also.

    PICA can be symptomatic of vitamin deficiency.

    Why not make your own without the Aspirin which is a real stomach destroyer.
    There are recipes all over the net but basically it's just citric acid and baking soda.
    I've made it before and it's easy and cheap. Also you can adjust the ingredients to your taste.

    I know what you mean. When I was an active alcoholic, I took Alka Seltzer for hangovers. It tastes so refreshing with cold water. That is, until it caused my stomach to bleed so badly I was too weak to stand and my stool turned black (blood in the stool). I had to spend 3 days in the hospital where they gave me 3 units of blood to replace what I'd lost.
