I constantly fear my friends turning gay for me, is it normal?

I'm not that much of a homophobe and I fully support gay rights, but at the same time i have this weird fear that my friends will become gay for me, and whenever they do say something with a homoerotic connotation in an obviously joking manner, I still get freaked out. Is this normal?

Yeah, seems like you're insecure. I guess it's true what they say... Don't knock it till you've tried it :P

If a gay person falls in love with you, take it as a compliment. It means that you're attractive!

Dude, it sounds like you might be gay. Say...do you like fishdicks? What are you, a gay fish? Watch the Kanye West episode of Southpark and I think it will be like looking in the mirror for you.

You might be a bit too paranoid about this. If you're afraid that they might do something to you how about getting a girlfriend. As a barrier, yes? Watch out for roofies though.

  • Well obviously you are more homophobic than you will allow yourself to believe. Saying you are not homophobic (or whatever) and not being homophobic are 2 different things. Its like the many other phobias/isms (racism, classism). Everyone is at least a little bit. The key is to be open enough recognize it & address it when we get that way. Its not all or nothing.

Wow... I must say the way you type and use words really makes me look at you in a strange way. I'm feeling things for you I have never felt before.

I think you should be worried about your friends; if you are able to make me feel like I wish to marry you over the internet then it is possible that if you spend any more time with your friends they are quite likely to sodomize you.

can I just disagree with your use of the term 'sodomise'? to Sodomise is (of Biblical origins); to force one into acting in the ways of the people of Sodom. The Bible at no point mentions homoerotic behaviour as a sin of the people of Sodom. I believe it mentions them raping their enemies, but that is a huge feature of armies in the past that both heterosexuals and homosexuals (and all that lies in-between) find horrifying, distasteful and disgusting. It was used until quite recently. It's not a sign of homosexuality, it is a horrible indicator of superiority over the opponent.

Sodom's great sins were greed, cruelty and barbaricism, so unless you mean the friends are going to turn him into a serial killer/bank robber, please don't say they'll Sodomise him.

Sorry about the rant, it's just one of those terms that gets on my nerves. Thanks for listening.
