I care more about animals than children?

I've always cared more for animals by far, than children or majority of the human race for that matter.
People can take care of themselves, I do sympathize for children who are abused or sexually molested, because they can't fight back, just like animals who are abused/neglected. I always fight for rights of those who cannot take care of themselves when it comes to someone bullying them, people will bully an animal. an animal will not bully a person/child, the only time an animal will act aggressive is when provoked, frightened/hungry like lions and bears. Aligators will eat your ass, so stay away from them, but animals like dogs, cats, squirrels, rabbits, whatever, are usually the target because their small and usually docile.

The human race, for the most part is wicked, which is why myself, and people similar to me feel the same.

I'm the same way. Put that to good use. I'm sure there are some local shelters that could use you as a volunteer!

In my mind I would choose a dog over a kid.

We're like brain twins.
It's perfectly normal. Animals have better qualities than most human beings do (i.e. loyalty, innocence, etc.).
What happens when you see a child, is that you immediately project the image of a future adult in your head - and let's face it, most adults suck. Animals, however, who will always remain innocent and loving do not suck.
So go ahead, there's no need to feel ashamed for being honest with yourself. I too care a lot more about animals than children. :)

I don't think it's odd to care more about animals than children. Children are nice and all but they grow up into assholes just like everyone else. So, yeah, who cares. Animals over kids anyday.

I love children, especially girls. In general though, not caring about humanitarian efforts like that is very normal, I wouldn't worry about it.

Not really, and for people saying that children aren't innocent, animals aren't entirely innocent either. There have been many reports throughout history of dogs attacking children. So really nothing is innocent. I love both animals and children but I'd have to save a child over an animal.

Yup i totally care more about animals than kids. I see the ads on TV as well and i always feel more the animals and get sad. Also when i watch a movie and an animal dies, I cry so much.. when a kid dies i dont. I've always loved animals so much since i was very young and i will do so forever. NOTHING wrong with it.

It's because we've been desensitized to seeing children suffer on TV. But we rarely see animals on TV suffering so when it happens we feel the shock more.

I always felt it was more sad when an animal died than a human and then felt bad about feeling that way, but I think its because I love animals so much and i see them as innocents, also we are desensitized by the news and murders on tv etc. but I also think it has to do with not having children of my own yet and not experiencing that connection to life. Also people do bad things and are capable of so much horror but animals are not malicious in nature like humans so i see it as more of a loss when they are affected negatively.
