I cannot go to church and believe anything.
I wasn't really raised into a religion, and any time I find myself in church for easter, or mothers day, etc. I can't help but disagree with everything the pastor says.
I won't say anything, but all of the songs about "devoting my life to Him" and the like just seem to make Christianity as a whole seem even more ridiculous than I already thought. Then they pass around a collection plate which makes things feel so commercial to me.
I believe in some sort of higher power/universe creator that controls things on a cosmic level, but organized religion always just seems like a cult gathering to me. I do support living a good life and giving to thy neighbor/being a good human being to one another, but to devote your life to a book of stories written by men in a time before modern law just seems a little funny to me. Fear of going to hell is a pretty good motivator to not commit crime, but such a decision can also be concluded by choosing between right and wrong morally. Why throw a book, commandments, and a bearded white guy into the mix?
