I can't stand speaking on the phone

Regardless of how familiar the person is, I despise talking on the phone to anyone. The only exception is immediate family members, but even then I don't like it much.

Something about the fact that you can't see the person you're talking to, but don't have the time to consider your responses like you do via text, makes phone conversations the worst of both worlds for me.

I avoid it whenever possible, and really don't understand people who enjoy talking on the phone and can go on for ages. To me it always felt a bit like being held hostage.

I find talking on the phone more intimate than texting.

I hate it because a lot of times the person on the other end has all these distractions so it is like talking to a wall. As they are talking to me they will be looking up dumb shit on the web, trying to holler at and beat their kids, roll another joint while driving on the highway, etc.

That and I tend to get worn out with social interaction.

When i do talk on the phone, it is brief and important. I don't call anyone just to gab.

I think we're so used to texting, we've forgotten how to have smart impromptu conversations with people. That said, I definitely agree with you, it is much easier to text because you have the time to contemplate your answers, and for some reason, this is much more difficult to do verbally. I like to get out of my comfort zone and call up friends, hearing their voice is much more comforting at times, especially when texting is insufficient to convey certain emotions.

Someone needs to create a phone that is only capable of texting. I can already anticipate the popularity and controversy it would garner.

Ugh. Me too. I hate talking to anyonr on the phone. I do it, but I hate it.

I get anxiety about unknown numbers. Idk why. I never answer them on my mobile.

I don't have that anxiety about the landline with unknown numbers. Probably because I know it's either scammers I can swear at or my grandmother's rehab hospital calling to confirm her appointments.

Texting is a nuisance. I won't sell to text only people on Craigslist. Phone calls only. Don't like it? Too bad so sad!

It's not the same as being face to face, but I love calls if I'm doing something else, like in discord calls n stuff

I don't like speaking on the phone either. My socially awkward ass sucks at conversations.

I love the meme about someone calling back after you texted them. It’s a dog with a horror look on his face, like crap do I answer?? Heheh.

I feel like I'm being held hostage when I'm on the phone with my sister.
