I can't stand ellen degeneres

I don't know what her appeal is. She is not in any way funny and her show seems like just a buch of frivolous chatter with celebrities. I can't stand how pointless the topics of her shows are. She has a lot of viewers- I feel like someone with the attention of so many people should draw attention to larger global issues- not waste time with her not-so-funny, insignificant interviews. Does anyone else feel like her and her show are just a big waste of air time?

Oprah, Ellen, Conan, whoever. they are all corporate sucks that's job is to sell the propaganda BS they want us to believe/. Oprah cares about one thing MONEY, and so does DeGeneres. These people have the exposure and the funds to awaken consiousness to what is happening in the world today and challenge the shocking inequality and brutality of all our governments. They don't do it, because they are the interests that they serve. Ellen funny? What's funny about her pedestrian humour?

  It's so true about Oprah. Almost every single (talk) show on television could be watched online, but nooooo, if you missed an airing of Oprah you had to order and pay for either a transcript or a video of the show, nothing was ever free, and all her minions were just too happy to fork over their grocery allowance for a copy of Oprah's latest offering. No wonder she is sitting on a pile load of $$$$ and her fans are still eating cold canned beans for dinner. (Nikkkkki)

I have NEVER EVER liked her either. I get grief about it all the time too. People are like "why don't YOU like Ellen?" Idk what it is...I cannot put my finger on it, I just don't. I think it mainly started when they had her as a judge on American Idol. I was like WTF? She has no connection to the music industry (not a singer, producer etc) So how in the hell was she going to tell someone they were pitchy or of key? She was not qualified and it angered me that she had ANY say in who went forward. I also DO NOT find her funny and think her dance routine is an attention grabbing BORE

I thought I was the only one that can't stand her...I don't find her funny either, the dancing routine she does is lame and goofy, and her guests suck. The only people I've ever met that were huge fans were gay, elderly, or gay and elderly (no offense to either groups). Seems like a nice enough person but for some reason she's not my taste.

I cannot stand her either. She is fake. She was put there like a fixture we HAVE to like. Plus, I agree with your statement, all she does is invite celebrities and talk BS. Another thing I despise is when she gives 10000$ checks and everybody acts like is a big deal. Please, that amount for her is nothing .It's only good to buy Portia a pair of shoes.

I can't explain why, but I really really really do not like her looks.

I don't think my sense of humor is "off kilter" as cocoboy21 asked someone above, as I find a lot of things, situations and people funny, BUT NOT ELLEN.

I know everyone is different, and some do appreciate her, though I don't know why. I just don't understand why I really can't stand her. I've not had anyone have the effect on me she has, but she does. And apparently I'm not the only one.

You are correct Ellen is the all time biggest waste of space to ever be in entertainment. She is not funny in any way shape or form, and is constantly laughing at her own stupidity and jokes.
But her ratings are not won by intelligent viewers. They are won by televisions that are left on in waiting rooms, and people with little intelligence.

Can't stand her or her "show". It's ridiculous and It's a total waste of time. She has no talent, isn't funny and offers nothing in the way of entertainment. Hope she would go away already. Bring someone with real talent to her timeslot. Every now and again, I'll try watching, but just can't bear to. Five minutes max, and I have to shut her off.

Ellen is one of the most generous people in the world and we need more people like her. It's fine if you don't find her funny because everyone has a different sense of humor but wow....some of these comments are gross. If you hate her as a person then you must really have a sad...sad life. Who hates on a person who makes people happy. Lighten up you special snowflakes.

  Generous? She promotes consumerism better than any advertisement ever could. She goes on about being kind to everyone, and gives away random things, and makes everyone feel warm and fuzzy, while at the same time saying that you *need* to have this for the holiday season, or you *have* to have this for a better life. 9 times out of 10 you would be better off without. Oh, and those cars she gives away? How well do you think that struggling family can afford the gas money, insurance, or the maintenance on that vehicle? She helped build a house for a family? How well can they afford the taxes on it after the cameras have gone? And I can guarantee that she is making ten times the amount one of those families would ever dream of seeing. She just does it to stroke her own ego and make herself feel better.

How could you possibly hate Ellen? She gives away fantastic gifts, gives to the deserving and puts a smile on people's faces. If you're only interested in humor, other talk shows are good. The Ellen Show is more than just humor- It's celeb interviews, crazy games, big giveaways and most importantly- It's about loving who you are

  It has nothing to do with the fact that she is gay. Dane Cook isn't gay and I don't find him funny either. I just think that she tries too hard to be funny and it dosen't translate as natural. Her show is not very good either- all she does is have celebrities on and dance around like an idiot. At least Oprah had talent as a talk show host and discussed serious topics once in a while.

Why Ellen Degeneres specifically? There are tons of shows like that, why just pick on her?

Anyway, if she drew attention to larger global issues she'd almost certainly lose most of her viewers. People who watch her show WANT to see frivolous chatter with celebrities, they want to be entertained and not have to think about important things, that's why they watch her show and not something that does draw attention to larger global issues. And that isn't a bad thing as long as they don't spend all their time watching shows like hers. Everyone does something to take their mind off important things.
