I can't remember who i am

Please help. This is the second time I've forgotten who I was. I mean, I know my name but I just don't feel like I'm here. I know this is just like depersonalization disorder and probably is... But I just want to know if it's normal with this illness to have significant periods of time that last a couple hours, involving amnesia, crying, depression, etc.

P.S., I don't show many symptoms of a panic attack during these spells (I'm calm)

I know what ur going trough. Youre not feeling the moment you live in. It's not normal but its not weird also and youre not the only one even though you think you are.I think you must be lonely and dont have a person or a thing that brightens up your life. Dont worry too much.

  • I found something called transient global amnesia that sounds EXACTLY like what I'm going through.

I do this too. Do you believe in past lives? Sometimes people dont feel connected to thier"new body or vehicle rather". I suggest you go to youtube, and look up Dr.Delbert blair supreme beings 1-10. Dont take meds for this! You have a gift, you are not souless! Only a few Souls are reincarnated. Be happy with it, and learn how to look deeper inside your self! i do this everyday, and at first it can seem scary. But its just the "real" you waking up. :)

Could be a type of seizure. I would go to your general practitioner and see about getting a referral for a neurologist. There are many possibilities as to the underlying cause. You need medical attention. It's always good to do some research on your own, but you need testing conducted by professionals. Make an appointment.

  • It isn't very severe, though. The really bad part lasts for a couple hours, and I can't remember things that people say to me moments after they're said. It's not like I leave the house.. I just move to a different room.

  • Thanks so much everyone! It's a damn scary thing. :( That fugue state sounds a lot like it... I'm so confused by all this.

Sounds like a Fugue state. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fugue_state

It'd be good if you went to a psychiatrist.
