It is not normal for this to happen every time you sleep in a certain position. It should be extremely rare. You should talk to your doctor about it.

I know this post is old but this used to happen to me every single night. I would see things and hear a man speaking to me saying horrible things. I started taking sleeping pills, and sleeping on my side and it hasn't happened since. It really scared me. I never want to experience that ever again.

Its sleep paralysis, but it either could be nocturnal seizures. If this helps you should try not putting a pillow on your chest when you are about to sleep.

The reason some people see unfamilair objects in their room when they havethese sleep paralysis is because they are still dreaming in a sense, sounds crazy but its almost like they drag things out of their dreams, they are awake but still dreaming..

Yeah, it's crazy stuff. Not very pleasant. BrianPomona126 is right, it's called sleep paralysis. I get hallucinatinos when I get too. Demons and things like that :(
Just try not to sleep face up.

Yeah, this is normal. As Pomona says, it's called sleep paralysis. If you wikipedia it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis) it mentions under causes that sleeping in a supine position (face up) is one of the causes.

Latingoku, Tony, what you experience is a part of sleep paralysis which is probably the basis for the superstitions of creatures that attacked sleepers, such as the succubus.

    Isn't learning fun?

Hmmm, I go through similar situations like that one. Except in all the experiences I've had I always see shadow figures and I have even touched them. I have also felt the presence of someone sitting beside in bed and I have also felt that someone pats my head and also someone sighing. But in all the incidents I have been paralyzed and without the power to utter words. Everything except my eyes are immobilized.

It's called sleep paralysis. It happens more than you think. You can have an adventure out of your body if you focus on the "white noise", buzzing, and vibrations.
