I can't identify with being a dom or a sub

I know there there the whole Submissive or Dominant role your suppose to take in the bedroom but neither of them appeal to me very much. The idea of bossing my lover around or taking orders is a real turn off for me :\

I just to be on equal terms with the person I love. Is that weird?

When I'm with my boyfriend, I like, scratch that, I LOVE, to be dominated.
But when I'm with a woman, I prefer to take control.
Especially if she isn't very experienced.
    But that's just me.

You could be thinking to extreme. Think more of do you like to please or be pleased more. Or do you like top or bottom more. But from what you wrote you seem submissive.

Both can lead and follow with out the Dom / Sub stuff.

That you wish to be an = is not only normal it is commendable.

to total aspie.. your to quote the lit well but after some investigation I have found that many only give lip service to that SSC and will happily violate the consent of the other.

I hear you. I see everyone as equals, and that view spills over into all aspects of my life. I couldn't possibly get into the whole BDSM thing, as I would feel insulted being treated as a sub, and uncomfortable acting as a dom.

I see everyone as equals, too. I've talked to doms and subs who feel the same way. (I don't know if it matters that all the people I asked were all Female.)

There might be a perceived hatred involved in BDSM activity (since you mentioned being a sub sounds insulting), but the activities with BDSM are enjoyable to many, because there's a rule called "Safe, Sane, and Consensual," which people engaged in these activities follow.

I couldn't explain to you what makes any aspect of BDSM culture appealing to anyone (including myself), but if you don't enjoy any aspect of it, then I suppose I can congratulate you for being more normal than the average person. :-D

I'm a switch, and I've seen plenty of others online who are as well. (Which are people who enjoy both dom and sub roles.)

Not having interest in any aspects of BDSM seems normal to me. In fact, I always saw BDSM interest as a fringe thing.

yeah your normal...I wouldn't worry about it...now me personally I love when a guy is in charge.

  • Most people are like that. They don't want to be completely submissive but aren't comfortable with the idea of making their partner a non-entity.

    You are normal.

  • What dappled said, you don't have to be either, it's just something that interests certain people.

I like to have a more agressive and dominating lover but that's just my own preference.

You're not "supposed" to be sub or dom. You just take on that role if it interests you. It's fine if you don't want to.

  • LOL not everyone's into that kind of thing. Personally I'm sort of a sub i guess but my gf likes me to be assertive and im ok with that too. I dont like 'dirty' stuff much at all really, which i guess isnt normal for a 16 year old guy..
