I can't bring myself to bite into a whole apple!
Is it normal that I am scared to bite into an apple using my front teeth?
I eat other foods using my front teeth fine, but I need to cut an apple up to be able to eat it...

Have you ever asked your parents about this? It might just be that something happened once that you don't even remember?
My sister always cuts up her apples when she eats them... I don't think she even realizes it anymore. But it started when she bit into an apple and it took out her front tooth. That was in grade school, and the tooth was loose already.
Or maybe you heard a story from someone else when you were young. You might be amazed at how much things we don't even remember anymore affect the way we do things.
That particular fear might not be commonplace, but irrational fears and phobias most certainly are normal.
this isn't normal, but weird phobias happen to come out at random times. I'm just not sure if this one has a name yet... =P
that's definately not normal. you should be talking to a therapist about your crazy apple - eating issues dude.
you should try getting an apple peeler. those things are amazing. some take out the core AND peel it for you. the best $30 ive ever spent
My 80ish mother was afraid to bite directly into apples.
Because in her day apples actually contained WORMS sometimes.
To this day I quarter and pare the seeds out - only because easier to eat.
That might have just reinforced your fear...sorry!
