I came home for my cat

I was living about 1000 miles away from home (with my mom) when i realized i couldn't do it, my cat is so old and i feared he would die alone. My mom made it seem like it would be a stupid decision, to move home just for a cat, when lots of people who go to university leave their pets behind, but i guess i am not like lots of people. So anyway I had to make other excuses, like i miss my dad (well i do but he's got a gf now and is rarely home anymore and now i miss my mom) and that i wanted to go to university here, and there was more opportunities. but, when my elderly cat does finally have to go, i dont think i can live here anymore. it is the place i grew up in, but without my cat it's not the same. IIN?

    This is me with my cats. I just can't go more than a week without seeing my cats. I got my first cat in a very low point in my life. This is going to sound soooo stupid but my cat made me happy and changed me. I now want to be a veterinarian because my first and and the other 2 cats I got after showed me the love I have for animals... All animals in a non-creepy way.

    I totally understand that feeling. I missed out on Uni residence experience and opted to rent a place so I could bring my cat with me. He had nowhere to go and I wasn't about to put him back into a shelter after I've given him a home and taken responsibility of him.

    I've made so many sacrifices for him that most of my friends and family think I'm crazy. But then again, that's what all love's about, right?

    I know a girl who flew home to Vermont from college in Florida because her cat (who was living with her parents) was sick.
    Not entirely normal, but it happens.
