It's something I also do! I wouldn't be able to judge whether it's 'normal' or not but as long as it helps you and isnt negatively impacting your life then it's perfectly fine.
I try not to ask higher powers for things. I feel like it's not good. I'll ask rarely, or for someone else's sake.
