I aways like to find similarities/patterns in things

I'm always finding similarities, even in two completely different things. I especially notice when a current event is similar to something from the past, (like how modern times are a lot like the 70s, complete with high fuel costs and a highly protested war), or how one tv show looks just like another, with different characters.

I can even link two coincidences together and wonder if they are actually just a coincidence or not.

is it normal to always find (and look for) similarities, and try to put two and two together even when the two (or more)things have nothing to do with each other?

I do this a lot. I think it's about connectedness.

My favorite is to find similarities between my group of friends and...say...my boyfriends. Our my family and his. Sometimes i liken me to him and his brother is my sister and his friend A is my friend A. Or sometimes I link me with one of his friends and him with one of mine. It's crazy how similar people can be, even when they are totally different people.

Maybe you should become a detective.

Or maybe a paranoid nerd writing conspiracy theories on the internet.

It depends on whether you have a trenchcoat or not.

I guess, as long as it's not compulsive.

I suck with coming up with examples but I often find similarities in things. Or I can make connections that most people would never think of. Its just how my brain works.
