I am overweight!

I am quite young but I weigh 81kg/179lbs and I'm 5ft 4 which makes me overweight! It's not really an is it normal but I HAVE to lose weight for my holiday in 10 months. I want to be about 50kg. Background info incase it helps: I am normal size but I have love handles (eew), big thighs and bit of belly fat. Please help! Don't say I am fine because I have checked and I AM overweight!

The fastest way to lose 50 kg is to amputate your legs.

Brother I was 95kg before and now I am 65kg

Walking is like shitting on a desert and waiting for the rain to wash it away
Believe me try learning boxing. You don't have to be a fighter. Just learn it and when you know the moves practise it with intense vigour in ur room. Perform 6 sets of 1 minute continuous boxing moves
Gradually increase 1 minute to 2 minutes
Or u can play a song in ur mobile to measure time

Eat well if u start starving ur self believe me ur metabolism will fall badly

Start eating 6 small meals a day instead of 2 large meals

Have you ever heard the name of a place called: GYM? Go there and lose some weight!

There's this cool site called google.com an if you go there and type in things like "weight loss" and "diet", you'll find a wealth of information.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but coming to this website full of people that you don't know, most of whom are not medical professionals, should have struck your common sense as not the best way to go about this. As such, you need to see a nutritionist.

Go to a general practitioner (which is a "regular doctor"), tell them that you're interested in losing weight and follow suit from there. Most of us don't know your medical history and don't know the best way for you to go about losing weight.

Think about it. If you have a hypoactive thyroid, diet and exercise probably won't help you as much as the average person. And no, there is no way to know this without blood tests, so if you took our advice, you'd find yourself running laps to little avail. What about medications? Some medications cause adverse effects, since most of us are not pharmacists and do not have your blood work on file, we can't tell you what you should and shouldn't take. Maybe you have a genetic disorder, or a digestive disorder? Once again, how would we know?

My point is, don't go onto any website thinking they can give you sound medical advice the way a doctor can. We can give you suggestions, but no suggestion should be good enough to keep you from seeing a doctor, especially on a regular basis.

Gah, sorry to be so harsh.

You just have to understand that it scares me when people come onto sites like this and ask for medical advice in lieu of going to a doctor. It's a very dangerous thing to put your trust into anons who have nothing to show for their medical expertise.

You should have a more realistic goal like losing 15kg and I advice that you exercise and eat healthily.

Eat less fatty food (if it's fried, it's probably unhealthy), exercise more (walking to the fridge doesn't count).

Other than that, eating habits like Shugs said. Drink more water. Walk more. 30-60 mins of exercise most days.

Something more balenced and healthier, I know my dad lost a ton of weight when he became vegetarian. I'm not saying u have to cut out meat, but I feel as a people we ate too much of it. Plus all the growth hormones in animals now, can't be good for u. And working out in tandem with a healthy diet is the real key to being "in shape"
