I find it very disgusting when I poop and I almost always take a shower afterwards if I'm at home. If I don't I usually wash down under with a washcloth, soap, and water after wiping. Am I normal?

I hate it too. It is the worst thing ever. I literally dread it. I eat so healthfully I even go two to three times a day, but i do it as fast as possible and get it over with. I can do it anywhere, with no problem, but it has taken many years to master that. It is so embarrassing, even to myself. It is the worst thing about being alive. I am so ashamed of myself for pooping, I dunno, most people probaby dont think twice about it though. I feel really dirty... and not in a good way.

The act of pooping is not disgusting, and just needs to be handled in a way that is sanitarily responsible. Its good to take a shower afterwards, and wash your hands. Its not normal to have a fear of outside facilities. You have to handle it in a responsible way, and we all have different ways. Personally, I wipe twice, the first with a bit of water, so it washes away any residue, and wash my hands.
Having the fear is OK, because it helps you be sanitary, but it seems to have gone too far, and now its upsetting, and interfering with your life, happiness and comfort.
As I've said before, when you take a shower after dumping the smell is worse than the dump itself.
Well it's not meant to be something to enjoy it's just a natural process of releasing waste products from the body. If you don't like it that's fine, but showering afterwards everytime seems like a bit of an overreaction buddy, you might want to seek help for that, doesn't seem very practical
I was same with althgouh in my country Turkey we have water pipe to inside toilet to clean it but it wasnt enough me. I was having bath after poping and cant go any other toilets except home.but when i went 8 months military obligations i learn we can live in bad conditions i mean humans can be easily adabted to new conditions:)
Hey, I'm the same as you! I feel unhygienic and dirty if I don't shower after I shit. Wiping my ass isn't enough for me! That's why I only shit at home and if I do shit outside, I try to get home ASAP 'cause I'll feel uncomfortable.
My partner suffers from OCD, and this is one of the things that really bothers him, he cant physicallyenter the bathoom unless he knows he is going to be washibng after, he cant even touch the door handle! a lot of people think that OCD is just about counting and doing this repetatively, its not, i would suggest discussing this with your doctor, there are anxiety suppressents that can help!
I don't have a problem with pooping in a public bathroom. I mean it is natural and people in other places sometimes pull down their loin cloth and shit in a ditch in front of other people, so just be thankful you don't have to do that!
