I am celebrating christmas and new year on my own. iin?

So, holidays are coming up. I am going to be celebrating Christmas and New Year on my own this time. And here cometh the story:

One of my acquaintances heard about it from me and gave me a very strange look, not sure if it was pity, lack of understanding or envy. Maybe even a combination of those. Is it really that strange? Why should I put up with people's company, if I can enjoy a couple of nice evenings on my very own?

Additional question: are some of you celebrating it alone, too? If so, do you feel bad about it, is it just a circumstance or a choice?

p.s.: 26, male, if it helps.

As long as you're happy about it, it's fine. I wish you a good one.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, everyone. :)

Holidays should be spent with friends and family. No one should be alone unless they don't have a choice.

It's the holidays, so do whatever you like the best. Liking being alone isn't weird at all; being by yourself on holidays is actually pretty refreshing.

Lots of people do either from choice or circumstance, it depends how you want to feel about it.

I am happy doing it and getting the peace and quiet to do what I want to do.

This year I will be having Christmas with someone special, we did invite 2 others who would have been alone but they have to work.

So, if you would rather be in company, invite someone else who will be alone or volunteer somewhere and help make someone else's Christmas and thereby yours too.
