I am afraid of vomit! is that normal?

I am deathly afraid of vomit, it scares me so much to hear about it, see it, hear it, ect ect. I think the reason why is because I heard my mom throwing up right before she died and I think that everyone who throws up may be dying, so i get so scared when I throw up, i force it back down.

i'm the same way. i actually see a psychiatrist for it, and i have a prescription for zofran, the strongest anti-nausea medicine known to man. if you need to talk about your feelings, i've found that emetophobia.org is a very helpful site.

I am afraid of people vommiting, because it will probably make me throw up instead. Plus, I had pyloric stinosis when I was little (blocked large intestine), so I threw up a lot and don't want to relive those days. i still have a weak stomach, so I don't like the subject of vomit either.

That would do it. Sorry about your loss. I am really bothered by snoring. I hated it before cause it would keep me up at night (when others snore, that is), but now it's really bad. I think it's because during the days before my father-in-law passed away, he was snoring sooo badly (because his airways were so blocked). It was so sad. So now when I hear people snoring, it makes me really uneasy.

Thank you for your condolences, and my condolences to you too! I understand you on the snoring thing too, annoying yes, but I would feel the same way as you. That is also how I feel about eyes, my mom's eyes were rolled back and so if I look at someone's eyes for too long I remember her eyes and I get really freaked out and have to look away! I hope that you are doing okay through your loss. take care

It is not a pleasant experience, but vomiting is not a sign of dying. It happens in many situations. Over eating, too much alcohol, upset stomach, even coughing too much as a cigarette smoker in the morning.Keeping it down mentally is a good sign of control.Otherwise, you will be losing all of the nutrients you have already ingested.

Thank you, and yeah I still have that racing thought though of how gross, plus I hope that person is okay, and automatically think they are having a heart attack or something!

forcing it down can kill you from the acid so don't do that and don't be scared everyone does it
