I have this inconvenient fear of gum wrappers and it is quite annoying. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this fear? The sound of the foil and the weird feeling when I touch them just gives me the goosebumps. It's worse than nails scratching on a chalk board.
I hate gum wrappers so much! They totally freak me out. Foil ones mostly, but other ones too. I hate when people roll them up. ew ew ew. I'm so glad i'm not the only one. I think I need therapy.
Wow, I thought I was the only one with this problem! Good thing we have the internet so we could find others like us. :-) Uh, it's not really that I have a fear of gum wrappers, it's just that they kinda make me sick if I have to touch them. Like, when my Husband buys those sticks of gum in those packages like Wrigley's, I just feel myself freaking out inside, saying to myself, "Why did you buy those, I hate those!" I don't quite know but I guess I just fear him leaving those little nasty papers around the house for me to pick up, which I HATE! The only kind of gum that I chew are the kind in boxes or those packages that you can just pop them into your mouth and not have to worry about the paper. I'll occasionally have some Bubblelicious, which is one of my favorites by the way, but not too much because of the foil paper inside.

I came here when I searched about not liking the feeling of wooden puzzle pieces and foil gum wrappers. I cant stand to touch either. I bought new wooden puzzles for my daughter and I can't help her do them because the feeling of the wooden edges is making me sick! I too cannot stand the feeling of a wooden popsicle stick in my mouth. The gum wrappers only pertain to foil, however; I used to ask people to unwrap for me. Glad I'm not the only one~!
I am afraid of all gum wrappers. I hate when people fold them up and leave it anywhere. Also I hate when throw it at people. But in general I have a fear of gum.
I am so happy I am not the only one afraid of gum wrappers! I cannot be around them, and won't chew gum because it reminds me of them. This extends out to straw wrappers and candy wrappers too (and even price stickers), but gum wrappers are by far the worst! I hate to even think about touching one!
My boyfriend has a fear of wooden Popsicle sticks. Just the thought of them goesright through him. Like he imagines biting into one by accident while eating a popsicle and it makes his teeth hurt bad. I used to think he was nuts but I now totally understand where he's coming from...
It's probably a phobia of shiny things.
I'm more scared of the ingredients inside the gum than the wrapper. It's normal, we all have phobias.
That is a very peculiar problem but i have to give you some alerting advice...
Go see a specialising physiatrist or a doctor about your mental phobia, it will help...!
Oh wow either if those fears is not normal there are worste things in life omg!
