I love to play pretend that I am a magical princess all day, while I get on with my day. My friends play along sometimes. (am 28 year old woman) I just do this for fun. :)
There are people who turn themselves into human dolls with millions of dollars in surgeries. There are people that choose to amputate themselves or otherwise handicap themselves. Choosing to live out a fun fantasy that's not hurting you or anyone else is the most normal thing I could think of.
Whatever floats your boat! Or castle I should say lol. People WILL definitely make fun of you, but who cares about what those jerks say? Just be yourself and live as a magical princess :D
So... what does a magical princess exactly do?
You live in imaginary towers, guarded by imaginary dragons?
Waiting to be saved by an imaginary knight, on an imaginary horse, or motorcycle (Knights jousting on motorcycles would be awesome!)
Doesn't seem like a productive, or useful thing to do.
I mean, when I'm watching movies and drinking beer, it still isn't that productive, but at least I'm doing something real, making a memory of something...
But whatever... you are not hurting anyone, so you do you.

Finally.
As a princess I may do whatever I wish! it's my castle! Have a tea party :) (with real tea) do my hair, nails, makeup, put on a princess dress, get all princessy! Put music on have a bawl, witchcraft, clean the house while prance, or have sex.
All as a princess. :)
I dress up as a slutty princess sometimes when daddy's friends are coming over, does that count

It is normal to some extent, but can also be an unconscious copying mechanism such as regression, as a psychology student I would say it’s normal and okay as long as it doesn’t keeps you from doing your daily tasks or from interacting with others.
So you basically do this to only degrade yourself,

No. I do this because it brings me such joy :) am simply having fun.
