I am 19, but still dont know to ride bicycle

I feel embarrassed to say that I don't know how to ride a bicycle at the age of 19. I am also embarrassed to discuss it with my friends. I remove myself from every situation where "riding" talked about or done.
I want to learn it secretly without my friends knowing it.. I have no idea. Help me..

Its normal i feel ur pain i can't ride :(
And now i have to do on some school trip where one of the activities is mountain biking.
    So im screwed...
Just go somewhere quiet (fields or something) look up some techniques and try to practice them, you should get the hand of it. If a 6 year old can I'm sure you can too.
If someone asks why you're riding badly just say your bike was broken and you're trying to fix it.
    Good luck.

Many foreigners can't, and many Americans can't either. I'm Dutch, and it's a costum here, but it's normal.

Try looking up some techniques to learn it, and practice them.

I had my parents removed my training wheels at the age of 4 and after hours and hours of falling and hurting myself with no adult supervision, I finally taught myself that riding a bike is worth all the pain....

I haven't rode a bike in years so maybe not.

oh my sister doesn't know how either and she's the same age as you ...Anyways i was just thinking .. shouldn't your friends be understanding :P i mean after all they are your friends. Sure they'd laugh or something may be a little shocked but i don't see why you'd be embarrassed. It's not like they're going to stop being friends with you.. maybe they would even be willing to teach you :) if not, then ask a brother/sister/cousin

Hmm. Well you can always learn when you have some free time. Riding a bike is something you never forget. I learned when I was 10 but I'm 18 now. I honestly haven't riden a bike in like 6 years. I mean who rides them anymore?

Perfectly normal. People just are shocked because normally, learning to ride a bike is a essential want at the age of 6-10, but if you didn't, that doesn't make you not normal; just learn :) I'm sure you have a family member, or friend that can help you.

Hey, don't feel so bad. I never learned either, and I'm in my 40's.

Why didn't I learn? Well, when I was 4, my dad went away to Italy to visit family, and a neighbour kid just a few years old than I was thought it would be great if I knew how to ride without training wheels by the time he got back. So he took them off, and tried to teach me. I wasn't ready, and got tired of falling and gave up. I don't know why they didn't put the training wheels back on. By the time I cared, I was too embarrassed and felt too old, so here I am today.

  • Ask a family member to teach you in a empty parking lot or something.
