I always used to be the teachers pet, the nerd, all teachers liked me, but i had no friends. Now I am cool and have lots of friends but my school performance seems to be affected hugely. My grades are going down, my behaviour is worseing, and my German teacher told me a conversation they were having about me saying i have to sides to me and other horrible things. What should I do to even out my reputation and is it my friends that are affecting my work?

    HEY! I'm pretty sure you can be popular AND keep your grades! You need to buck down and listen in class, AND try to do some homework... your friends probably aren't going to be there for you 100%% of the time, and your education is really important. Its up to you, really, because I'm sure that being bad in school isn't why you have lots of friends.

    Try to be yourself. It is possible to have a lot of friends and still do good in school. Listen more in class, do most of your homework, and sometimes tell your friends that you can't hang out if you need to finish your homework or study for a test, etc. (you don't have to tell your friends that). Don't let popularity get the best of you. You'll have it during high school, but once you get out of school, your grades will be astronomically more important than your popularity is.

    lol you need to even out your priority's you can have lots of friends and get good grade, im getting A's and A*'S in everything but spanish (i was forced to take it) but yea, its possible to have both, you just have to try :L

    Your scoial life affects your academics a lot. Just concentrate on your lessons when you should and use your free time for your friends. I had the same problem when I was in the 3rd and 4th grade but I'm all right again this time.

    I know you've probably had this fired at you for years, but your grades are REALLY important.
    You sound like you have the ablity to do good in class, so just use that ability. Not everyone has that.

    To put it a different way: high school friends don't last, but your education has a big impact on the rest of your life.

    Try to be yourself more and be a people pleaser (teachers or peers) less. Do well in school cause you want to learn & get ahead. Develop friends that respect you vs shallow popularity.
