For the sake of the hypothetical, suppose all humans have a predetermined life span.

Now suppose you encounter a person/creature who can give and take years from a human's life span if he has their consent.

This person/creature offers you a deal, he will give you $300,000 in exchange for you permitting him to take 10 years off of your life span. He will not tell you the length of your life span, or haggle on price or years. If you take the deal you will not instantly age 10 years, you will continue to age normally, you will simply die 10 years earlier than you were originally destined to.
