Hypersensitivity when touching small things?

Sometimes when I'm unwell or am sleepy this weird thing happens;
It starts if I roll something tiny like a diddy polystyrene ball between my thumb and forefinger. Then, all of a sudden, the particle feels enormous (at least as big as an orange) and at the same time all noises ( like a ticking clock) seem much much louder. This is coupled with feelings of anxiety and last no more than 10 seconds. Is this normal?

    I had this every night as a child, and it became especially bad when I got a fever. I didn't know what it was or why it was happening but I looked up Alice in Wonderland Syndrome like the person above said, and it seems to describe it to a T.

    I do have control over my dreams! It's so cool, well, now I know there's nothing to worry about, I'll sit back and enjoy it XD

    Had this as a kid too! Enjoy it! I also get the feeling that i can rock my body in any direction up to 90 degrees while perfectly stationary on my bed! You can probably have very lucid dreams in that state too where you are dreaming but have control of the dream and can alter shapes to your hearts content! Great fun! Nothing to fear

  • It's something like Alice in wonderland syndrome. Look it up. I used to feel like things were very close or far away when I was a kid at night.

    I used to get that when I was younger! I forgot about it until I saw your post, it hasn't happened for years!

    Thanks for your opinion :) I did more research and I think it's been nicknamed the big-small feeling...

    Interesting.
    That doesn't sound normal... It doesn't sound like you should be too concerned about it though.
