How would you feel if your therapist had tattoos?

(Assuming none of the tattoos are of offensive content) I was looking into whether it was acceptable last night, and the opinions seem pretty mixed. While I understand some people find them unprofessional, I think it would help in this field in some cases. Many people pointed out that many patients going into therapy would feel more comfortable with someone more laid back that they could relate to. In a career where one of the main objectives is to get people to trust/open up to you it would seem like you would want therapists to be very diverse.

I honestly wouldn't give a shit as long as they were good at their job, and honestly cared about helping me get healthy.

Do people really care in 2015? Tattoos aren't exactly unusual or edgy anymore thet are really common. Unless someone has like a swastika on there forehead or something, I don't give them a second loom.

So long as it wasn't disturbing or vulgar, I'd be cool with it.

That's kinda similar to what I was thinking.

Honestly how does having a tattoo have any affect on whether or not you can perform well as a therapist. You wouldn't judge someone for being black would you? So because he chose to change the color of his skin that's a problem? Also a lot of therapists did have troubled pasts and they want to help others like them. So even if they were offensive he could have got them when he was younger.

In all honesty, I wouldn't want to talk to someone that seemed too professional (I'm not saying tattoos are unprofessional at all). I'd much rather talk to someone that understood what I was going through and was kind of like me. I honestly think tattoos would be great for a therapist-as long as they aren't childish.

I'd have trouble focusing on my issues if I had to keep starring at the unicorn on his forehead.

I think tattoos are trashy, but if they did a good job I wouldn't care.
