How to tell if your crush really likes you or is just a player?

He holds the door for me and I catch him staring at me sometimes. He speaks sweetly to me and always tries to stand near me. I don't know if he's like that to everyone or just me as we aren't in the same department, I only meet once or twice a day so I can't observe how he acts around other girls.
 I know some jerks like to make every girl think he is interested and make them fall for him then play hot and cold. He's quite good looking and I know a few female colleagues have a crush on him. I've seen him joking with married, older and honestly, unattractive female colleagues. I really can't tell if he is nice to all women or what. Is there anything distinct that we can tell? I don't want to end up falling for a player. I don't even know whether he has a girlfriend  :(

    It sounds like he's nice to all women. A lot of guys are like that. He could be a player, or he could just be nice.

    You could always try talking to him outside of the job and see how that goes. That also can risk you catching feelings though. Just keep your guard up and watch to see if he behaves the same with all other women and talk to him a bit more if you'd like.

    If you're worried about falling for a player, and he seems like one to you, then just forget about him and find a nicer guy who gives you more individual attention!

    That doesn't sound like player behaviour to me. Players would be more persistent and aggressive (even if it's only an undercurrent) because they want to close the deal and then move onto the next. Obviously I can only go off what you said but he sounds okay to me.

    In a way I am going through the same thing with my guy bestfriend. He hints here and there that he' love loves me but I'm just not sure yet... Point is guys are tricky with stuff like this & most of the time us girls wont know until they tell us.

    What to do, I don't have a lot of experience about guys. My boyfriend is nice, good looking and everything seems perfect now. I pray and hope he is not a player.
