Okay, this is not really a poll but rather is it a call for advice. So just ignore the poll.

I am quite a shy person, I have had bad issues with my self-esteem, but it is getting better. Going out to meet girls at the club/pub is not as uncomfy and I can actually start conversations with girls. However, my balls are not yet big enough to take it one step further and ask for her number. I just do not know how to do this without being a creep.

I know the answer is probably going to be "just do it", but is it really that easy? It just feels so wrong. Have "lost" about three potential dates this way and it is kind of annoying.

    Practice, practice, practice! In front of a mirror if necessary, until you can say the words: "Could I please have your number?" easily. The first time will be the hardest and then it will get easier, I promise.

    You'll know when a girl is not into you. If the conversation feels jagged and forced and she isnt adding anything to the interaction either then move along. You will find someone that things will feel like they "click." Get her laughing and make her feel comfortable. Just casually ask for her number but dont act desperate or needy either. Its easy...you will just know...its not easy to put into words. You just know when your interaction isnt awkward. YoU WILL KNOW. If you feel like you have to force it with someone it probably isnt someone you really have much in common with anyway.

    Just be a creep. After five or ten minutes into a conversation, everybody will forget about your creepiness. You may not get laid, but you still make friends.

      Next day:

    The major problem is that I am not physically attractive; I am below average (probably a 4 on the classic 1-10 scale) and I never had a girlfriend or even been kissed which is something that makes me even more insecure and hesistant to approach girls. Perhaps God's intention was for me to be alone. :p

    You have lost 3 dates after asking for their numbers? Perhaps you need to work on your timing. I feel like the most important thing to do when at a nightclub would be to read into what is probable that the lady you are looking for wants.
    You're not going to get a one night error if you look like you're looking for something serious and you're probably not going to get a keeper if you're acting like you're looking for a one nighter.

      I never get to the point of asking for their number. This last time was so fucken obvious I am not only embarassed but even hate myself for not getting her number. I would have gotten it, 100%

      I do not feel like bothering you with details or long, boring posts so I will try to keep this short. It was closing time at the club and at the wardrobe this drunk dude was hitting on this drunk girl (I am always sober when out now because alchols makes me depressed lol). The drunk dude ended up unintentionally wingmaning me by introducing me to their conversation. The girl said "I like you" lol

      The guy asked if I wanted to come with them to this other place but I said that I am too old for that crap and then he and tbe girl disappeared. I got a phonecall from a friend, whom I been out with, to come to McDonald's. I went there and run into the girl from the club. "It's you" she says and points at me.

      Talked a little to her then it got all awkward. We just stood their all silent. Then I went to sit with my friend. All this time I was thinking "maybe I should go over and sit with her" Eventually I saw her leave the restaurant and realised I'd probably never see her again. Haha.

      Worst part of all was that I did not even ask for her name. No idea what the heck I was doing.

          I swear to God this was a can't-fail situation. Had I wanted I could have even got laid that night. I cannot believe I did not even ask for her name, so now I cannot even engage in creepy Facebook-stalking. :p

          My fear of rejection is just too fucken big, I guess.

    How big your balls are supposed to be ? LOL ! I think first question should be "are you single?". If her answer is yes, it doesn't necessarily mean she is interested in you, so second question should be "are you interested in me ?". If yes then "let's take each others number and address".

        Okay, then you can approach for friendship first like "can we become friends ? I am blah blah working in blah blah." Then after few meetings you can propose. Do not blame me if anything goes wrong since being shy I get nervous in front of girl and never tried all this but is recommended for you since you need emergency help LOL !
