Is there a single day of the year when mattresses are NOT on sale?

Seriously, these stores will take any excuse to make a commercial for a fucking mattress.

'Our manager Bob sneezed AND farted simultaneously, so we're taking an additional 10% off our memory foam queen size mattresses!!'

'It's our King Sized Kwanzaa Price Killer Sale!!'

'It's the William Howard Taft sale!! We're having a BLOWOUT sale on all king size and larger models!!'

Sheesh...what's the dealio? They're always so fast-talking and loud too!!

Gee, thanks, but I think I'll wait for the Autumn Equinox Sale, when prices tumble down like the falling leaves.

    I'm not sure of the psychology of this. Your mattress adverts and our sofa adverts are really annoying. They're never funny, they're never indulging in much psychology, they don't sell us a lifestyle, they just sit there.

    What is it about furnishings that makes us want to have them advertised in this way? The adverts obviously work but they don't appeal to me.

    However, I could name three or four furniture stores and if I wanted to buy a sofa, I'd probably go to one. Maybe the advert has just implanted their name in my mind so that I'll buy one, not in response to the advert, but just because the name was in my head.

    I think we can all agree that mattress ads would be so much easier to digest if they simply advertised the following: "This mattress is a great place to fuck!"
    With the same enthusiasm we all see from our salesmen, of course.
