How old were you when you moved out of your parents home?

I'm 24 and I'm trying to figure out if I can afford to move out from my parents place. They're not putting pressure on me or anything. It made me curious and want to do a poll about how old people were when they moved out. One of my fears is moving out to early and having to move back home, so I was wondering if that happened to anyone. Feel free to share your story about moving out or any advice you may have. • I'm sorry to hear you didn't have a choice, but I'm glad some friends helped you and it worked out. I'm worrier, so even though my parents would take me back, I just worry. Thanks for your response and your perspective. You're right, at least I have a fallback. I wish good things for you in the future!

i moved from my parents house when i was 17 cause i wanted to study university abroad, it felt a little awkward to leave in such a young age but i got used to that and was able to move on my life and deal with it very well, at first it was very difficult, new country, new college, new lifestyle, new me !!!! but you just have to take the pressure and live your life, it was a great experience .

I moved out when I was 16, moved back for three months when I was almost 17 and into 18, moved back again for almost a year when I was 19.

I guess when I go to college...? So that'll be exactly four years from now.

    17. went to the army for National Service. Never sponged off my parents again after that. A white man should never live off others, especially old people

26 and still home. They have no problem with my in and out hours. Mom tried to tell me I should be home earlier once, But Dad told her I wasn't a kid. Thanks daddy.

If you are not studying I would kick you out on your arse. No person over 18 should parasite off old people unless they are studying to create a good life.

My daughter tried this BS on me. i told her think again. At 18 your are working and paying your own place or studying. You are not going to be a parasite. The best thing I did. her marks and sport picked up considerably as she realised she has to make a future. She is now provincial in 3 sports and has played international. And very good grades.

You shouldn't thank your dad. he is is only creating a sense of entitlement in you. He should grow balls and make the hard but correct decision. Like a bird throwing the young out of the nest.

Get off your arse and go support yourself.

TheGypsySailor plucked me out of my childhood home in my early 20s and promised me an exciting life at sea, but instead he's on this website all day. I was so in love and now I'm so sad and lonely.
