    Why does the kid need heels? Do they make heels for children? Seems like it woukd make it hard to run around and they could easily break something. Kids should be encouraged to run, not given an obstacle. Unless that obstacle is grandpa's bear trap.

    • I'm not talking about wearing heels while running. Just to school or special events. And, yes, they actually do make heels for children! I found super high heels for TODDLERS. That's crazy! When I was younger, around 12 years old, I wore medium-height heels. I was in 7th grade when I started. When I was in middle school, SO many people wore heels. Most wore wedges, though...

      The purpose of heels is to look taller, so logically children need them even more.

        Logically? Why do children need to look taller?

            In case they are attacked by a mountain lion. Looking taller is beneficial when fighting wild animals.

      Some of the shoe stores in my area do sell heels in children's sizes. I think it's weird, but parents seem to enjoy buying them for their kids for whatever reason.

        I found shoes for kids that are pretty tall! I saw these really pretty summer sandals online (I was shopping for the summer for myself) so I clicked on them. I selected the color that I wanted. It was only when I went to select my shoe size that I realized they were for three year olds!

      There are actually these tiny little plastic play heels and princess dresses for really young girls. I think they're kinda dangerous and I've seen hoochie boots and heels for girls as young as like 4 or 5.

        I used to love wearing those little plastic ones when I was a kid. They were tough to walk in, but that's what made them fun! =}
        It's okay for a kid to get a scraped knee once in a while, I think.

        Those hoochie boots have gotta go, though. Seriously..

          Scraped knees, biffed elbows, a bloody lip even, for sure. Kids of prior generations we're tougher without a doubt so it was ok. Not so much now. And I wouldn't be surprised if some parents tried to sue after their precious princess falled down and chipped the polish on her baby toe after tripping on all her Frozen merch, or even better they sue because those plastic shoes are too narrow for their plump little pumpkins footsies to fit. Or for not making them gender neutral. I think I'm starting to rant...

        Oh right, for that princess phase. Those shoes seem ouchy. So glad I have boys.

          My neighbors' kids are in that princess phase. They have super long dresses (which they can easily trip over) and high heels which as slip-on shoes, making it easy to trip in them and fall out. Who came up with letting 5 year olds wear this?!

    It depends on how tall the heal is... if were talkin lethal 5 inch stilettos, no woman should really be wearing them. Kitten heels though, I think are ok.

    In terms of age, I say 13 is a good age to let one wear small heels of some kind.

    I don't mind any age wearing the heels as long as they don't associate material objects or certain things with being beautiful . I also would say not to make them for girls too young as it could be unsafe to walk in for them .
