  Most got popular because others found them annoying. Sometimes annoying people doesn't make them wrong, sometimes people get annoyed at others because they are telling a fact that they don't like.

Almost never!! Unless it seems like one of just a couple blatantly obvious ones, I just don't even notice, nor care to know. It literally doesn't cross my mind to even try to guess. It seems wrong to me.

I've been blamed for crap I didn't write, and had others given credit for shit I wrote, so it sucks to be on that side of it. Plus, damn, it's anonymous, so whether I like a person, or a question, or not I actually do respect the anonymity a lot. I really don't understand why guessing who a writer is is more important than just answering the question.

Many times, I am absolutely naive to the fact that the original poster might actually be a regular user here. So I oftentimes say something I would generally say to anybody without bias to whether or not we are acquaintances on here. This has even gotten me into trouble a few times... Maybe I need to start being more considerate of who the original poster might be. Or, maybe not. After all, why would they post it if they didn't want an honest answer, right?

But no, most of the time, I do not recognize the story author. Unless of course, it is just blatantly obvious, or if the O.P. admits to it in one of their comments on the post or something.

  I do that all the time. On the rare occasions when I'm rude, I think, "What if I've just said that to someone who is normally lovely?"
  
  On the other side of the coin, whenever I get nasty replies from people I like, I first of all think, "Wow! He/she is being really harsh with me" but then, when I remember it's anonymous, I'm at least glad I'm hearing the truth, rather than someone being nice just because it's me.

        Weirdly I was just thinking about it this morning. I was looking around for some web space (don't really want to do it on any of my servers). Won't take me long to design something simple so I should have it up by the weekend. I'll stick whatever passage we choose there too, so that (a) people don't need to see the post (b) it can be used as subtitles for my strange accent. :)

I can always tell when its dappled itduz or allistalla. This one is da... Err a tiger who likes cereal. Also there is one unidentified user who writes stories very angrily with a lot of swears and insults, and then there's the guy who always puts quotation marks around his titles which might actually be a few people, and there was this crazy guy that always put a number 2 or 4 in his titles... I kind of miss that guy

  I am so tempted to write ten angry stories with quotation marks around the 2 and the 4, use the word "shrunk" in each of the stories and make some reference to my stripey tail, just to mess with you. :P

Rarely. I hate guessing, I'm terrible at it. Although I'm thinking this is Frosties, am I right:O? This is going to be so awkward for me if I'm wrong:/ If it is, then you should know there's one, really obvious thing you always do which gives you away (Besides being a tiger and all) :P
