I used to go to the nail salon every 2 weeks, but I realized how much money I was spending so I started doing my own nails. I bought a UV lamp and my own gel nail polish. I think it was a great investment! LOL.

You know, Ive never looked at a woman and thought she was beautiful because of her finger nails or that they added more beauty to her. Im just saying.
I don't think girls generally paint their nails to look more attractive to men, it seems more like a fun way of making their hands look prettier to themselves and other girls.
I agree. Does nothing for me, in fact better if they're just plain and natural length.
I have acrylic fingernails and have done for the past three years. I get them done twice a month, and get my toes painted at the same time too.
I'm surprised by the guys saying they don't notice too! It makes me feel so much better to have my nails looking pretty.
I don't get fake nails anymore. They fucked up my real nails really badly and not only that but I feel like I can't do anything when I do get them done. They don't add much to my appearance so I'm just doing my nails myself now.
i dont need them. my nails are really long when im in school some of my friends say ″shit those are real?″ and then try to take em off 6.6 it gets me annoyed
I never wear fake nails, and my nails spend maybe 20 days out of each year painted. Just not something I have a big interest in. I do it for costuming and cosplay, and once in a blue moon just for kicks. Never had them professionally done in my whole life.
Never. I hate fake nails with a passion. Especially when they are so square at the end. Ugh. That don't look real!
I get acrylic nails. Im sixteen been getting done for a little over a year now. I find myself beautiful inside and out but when you get something done to your outter appearance. I guess it makes you feel even better about yourself :)
There's no reason to get your nails done. Nobody will fall in love with you over your nails except a nail fetishist. People will just think "Oh, she got her nails done." and that's all. Nobody cares about how wonderful your nails look.
I'm a guy and am in cosmetology school currently. I use to never do my nails but now I do them when they get to long or if the polish needs to be changed. I feel weird without nail polish on now... I think I'm going nuts xD
I rarely paint my nails, I end up scatching them off myself when I'm bored after a day, so I def. wouldn't bother paying someone else to do it
Interesting that men don't notice or even care! I don't feel so bad now, if I have to rush out without them done perfectly.
I only had nail extensions done once and although it looked beautiful and I got many compliments, I felt that it wasn't for me. I found it impractical for things like typing and it felt a bit tight and warm as well.
The best nail care investment I've made is a glass nail file. It's long-lasting and you can file from both directions. In fact, it seems to thicken and seal the edge of the nails preventing rough or splintered ends.
Literally like, once every 2 years. I love DIY beauty stuff and when I want acrylic nails (rarely) I go to RiteAid and buy their little acrylic nail set and do it myself. Otherwise, I just like to paint my nails normally.
I have never had my nails done in a salon. Why pay for something I can do myself? But then I find it to be a huge waste of time because I use my hands and inevitably mess it up every time.
